Things to do this weekend…

As usual there are LOADS of great things to keep you busy and out of trouble this weekend. Here are our recommendations…

Bullring & We Are Birmingham Project

We Are Birmingham Shop and Gallery Space has teamed up with the Bullring to deliver an exciting new art project, which will see four Midlands-based artists work exhibited at the UK’s most visited Shopping centre. You may have seen the Saint Martin’s Square area just outside the Bullring is going under a bit of a transformation, as part of the city’s new Spiceal Street Development. All building works are a bit of an eye-saw and in order to alleviate this the Bullring and We are Birmingham Shop have come up with an inspired art exhibition.

Craftspace at We Are Birmingham

Short notice, but this event’s on this evening till 7.30. If you can make it, please do – there’s some lovely work on show, at a range of prices to suit any budget, and they’re all one-off pieces produced by a group of refugee and newly arrived women who have been learning craft skills with the aim of setting up their own social enterprise.

Chop Exhibition, a collection of work by one of Birmingham’s premier artists, Tom Tebby, is now on display at the city’s We are Birmingham (WaB) store gallery from Saturday 19 February 2011 until Saturday 5 March 2011.

We Are Birmingham opened its doors on 13th November, selling art and crafts created by people in Birmingham and the West Midlands.
