Eye Candy Festival of Popular Visual Culture is back for a second year and taking place in Birmingham. We’ve picked a load of our favourite artists and asked them to come and help us brighten up the Southside district of the city with newly commissioned works, events, films, talks and a very cool art fair on bikes. We love the idea of this typographical exploration of 26 letters (and a few sneaky characters) by 35
different illustrators, designers and artists, all displayed as one alphabet.
Stylistically the show is really diverse, ranging from folk such as Jon Burgerman, I Love Dust, Sam Pierpoint, Lewes Harriot, Dan Westwood, members of The Outcrowd, amongst others will be participating and working across a range of media. Continue reading
Lover of all beautiful things in Design and Art, Sarah Allen, has invited super cool artist and illustrator Sam Pierpoint to literally Create in Birmingham from the CIB shop in Birmingham’s Bullring today, Good Friday, and Easter Saturday from 11am – 7pm.
Sam takes a plain pair of shoes of your choice and transforms them into original works of art entirely unique to you. Transporting her studio to the window of the temporary Bull Ring shop she will be inviting people to engage with her process and inspire new designs. Prices start at £150.
