Supersonic Festival

Supersonic Festival!
Custard Factory

22 – 24 October
supersonicfestival.com

Around July this year, some of you may have been wandering around the Custard Factory scratching your heads as to what had happened to the yearly celebration of noise that is Supersonic Festival. Don’t fear as its ear-ringing goodness hasn’t gone away but has moved to a new timeslot during October.

Get your last kick of festival spirit before winter properly kicks in, and savour the pulse racing noise from this year’s headliners that will keep you buzzing through the dark months. Leading the charge on the Friday will be Birmingham’s own Napalm Death, followed by Godflesh, who will be the last to take to the stage on Saturday.

Yes, that’s right; after not playing in the UK for ten years industrial metal pioneers Godflesh will be bursting some eardrums once again. And as if that wasn’t enough, rounding off the weekend’s frivolities will be Sunday’s co-headliners; Swans and Hallogallo.

These bill toppers have got their work cut out as supporting them will be a mixture of the UK’s best industrial, prog, folk, avant jazz, heavy dubstep and grindcore acts. If you wish to sample this mix then one-day, two-day and weekend tickets are available; check out the Supersonic website for details on how to get your hands on them. CB

Get Crafty

There has been a recent renaissance in the craft movement that seems to be based around DIWYM (Do It With Your Mates) rather than DIY. Whether knitting, jewellery-making or drawing the social aspect of ‘doing’ and ‘making’ has seen groups pop-up all over.
