True to Life? @bm_ag until 2 November

This exciting new exhibition of photography explores life in the Middle East but also the notion of photography itself. It examines the ideas of real, staged or imaginary documentary photography with visitors being challenged to question whether what they are seeing is real or not.

Grayson Perry Tapestries @BM_AG

Following the BAFTA award-winning Channel 4 series ‘All in the Best Possible Taste with Grayson Perry’ BM&G is the first Midlands venue to display the series of six tapestries that were produced alongside the programme.

John Myatt – Master of Disguise

Infamous for his part in one of the most sensational art cons of the 20^th century that earned him a 12 month jail sentence for fraud and a Sky Arts TV show, John Myatt, the artist known as the ‘convicted forger made good’, brings his largest personal exhibition to the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery from the 29th September-14th October.

Brilliantly Birmingham 2009

Brilliantly Birmingham, the celebration of contemporary jewellery, will be marking it’s 10th Anniversary this year. The annual event, which launches on 21 November, has grown into an international festival which draws people from all over the world.
