New Art WM Annuale, 20 March – 15 April

New Art WM Annuale is a new project which showcases artists living and working in the West Midlands and encourages people to become buyers of contemporary art. While the UK’s art market thrives in the capital it isn’t as obvious in some of the regions.

Several past initiatives in the West Midlands have proved popular but the irregularity of selling exhibitions and art fairs in the region, alongside the lack of contemporary selling galleries, prohibits the continued sale of works to the public. Continue reading

These lovely images dropped in to our inbox last week courtesy of St Paul’s Gallery in the city’s beautiful Jewellery Quarter.

The litho prints (H60 x W80cm) are available from the gallery framed (£80) or unframed (£35) and feature the city’s fine Brutalist architecture from the 50’s-70’s.

Also in the series is a an equally great image of the New Street Signal Box in Blue and Brown tones – they make a great set!

25 Years of Reeves & Mortimer

Reeves & Mortimer 1511
Announcing their first tour since 1995 Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer will be bringing their chaotic, silly, stupid and very funny comedic stylings to Birmingham’s Barclaycard Arena on the 23rd November.

The tour, ’25 Years of Reeves and Mortimer: The Poignant Moments’ will be a celebration of the first 25 years of their professional collaboration from Vic Reeves Big Night Out (Channel 4 1990) through Smell of Reeves & Mortimer (BBC Two 1993/4), Bang, Bang It’s Reeves & Mortimer (BBC Two 1999) and Shooting Stars (BBC Two 1999-2011).

They are promising… some up-lifting moments, some musical moments, maybe some magic, several dancing styles, some show of physical strength but always some poignant moments.

The second series of their sitcom House Of Fools is currently on BBC2.

Tickets are on sale now priced at £33.89 & £40.08 (includes admin fee £0.70 facilities fee) + £2.55 fulfilment fee.  Available from www.theticketfactory.com or 0844 338 8000.
