Aiming to put Birmingham’s diverse musical offerings on the map (literally) Levitate has been conceived to showcase the city’s thriving sector. Live, academic and industry led events will take place across the city highlighted across three distinct areas; a music map, a summit and live events.
Taking inspiration from the successful Art Map for the city’s cultural happenings the Birmingham Music Map will showcase over 40 events, retail and live music venues in the city.
An industry focussed event Levitate:Summit will take place on 26th February at the Custard Factory in Digbeth. Attendees will take part in debates and networking opportunities while there will be talks from key industry speakers chewing the fat over the local music sector and ideas for future developments.
An evening music showcase Levitate:Live will mix homegrown and nationally acclaimed performances including Birmingham Punk heavy weights GBH who will be headlining. With plenty more yet to be announced check the website for details.
