A ‘taste-along’ screening of Ken Loach’s film The Angels’ Share at Britain’s oldest working cinema, The Electric, in Birmingham on June 20th.
We’ll be expertly tasting our way through the malts featured in the film along with the characters.
Walk and Whisky is a walking tour of (and stops at) Birmingham’s five best whisky bars accompanied by an architectural historian for some cultured whisky appreciation.
Amy Seton, founder of The Birmingham Whisky Club and festival organiser, comments: “We’ve worked hard to put together a really exciting programme for A Dram Fine Summer that offers something for anyone interested in whisky. Whether you’re an expert of a complete novice, there should be an event for you. We also wanted to work with local venues and retailers to highlight what a fantastic city Birmingham is and how much there is on offer locally. We’re delighted to be working with the likes of The Electric cinema, the brilliant new Church Inn and with retailers such as Hunters & Frankau to make this a fantastic celebration of whisky and Birmingham.”
There are lots of other events going on as part of the festival too, ranging from a distillery tour in Wales to a whisky cocktail masterclass. The full programme is available here.
