What is home – is it a building, is it a place, is it geography, is it identity and for us, what is it that makes us ‘Brummies? This is the question VIVID are asking in March as they launch HOME MOVIES.
In 2010 VIVID commissioned Reel Access to work with a group of first time curators from the Hodge Hill community to develop a film exhibition programme exploring themes of ‘home’. Four months on, the group has selected a diverse range of works, drawn from archives, television, artist libraries and personal collections and now present them for public exhibition at VIVID, Digbeth, The Pump, Kitts Green and Ward End Library.
Special event: Thursday 10 March from 6pm, FREE – Join VIVID for screenings and a discussion with the community curators from Hodge Hill with guests Pogus Caesar, Professor Roger Shannon (swish films) director of VIVID Yasmeen Baig_Clifford and director of Reel Access, George Fleming.
THU 10 – SAT 12 MARCH | OPEN 12-5 PM | admission FREE
