We mentioned Kalinda Ashton’s impressive debut in February’s Area Culture Guide as one to watch from Tindal Street Press’ 2011 list; now it’s been nominated for the €100,000 International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award, whose previous winners include David Malouf, Nicola Barker and Michel Houellebecq. TSP will be cracking a bottle of champagne over the book’s bows at a couple of launch events.
First up there’s a do on 9th March, 7-9pm, at the Review Bookshop on Bellenden Road in London, but of more interest to Midlanders will be the Birmingham launch the following evening, at the Ikon Gallery, from 6.30 till 8.30pm.
Come along and enjoy a glass of wine, meet the author and hear her read from the debut novel that’s already making a splash, the first step on what promises to be a long and successful literary career. For more information on this and all TSP books and events, go to www.tindalstreet.co.uk.
