Wolverhampton Civic Hall
11 and 12 October 2011
In 2009 The Specials finally made the dreams of so many of us come true when they reformed and embarked on a phenomenally successful 30th anniversary tour. After the UK dates they set off around the world and made several festival appearances, including the grandaddy of them all, Glastonbury.
Also, they were richly – and deservedly – rewarded, winning the Inspiration Award in October 2009 at the Q Awards and the Outstanding Contribution to Music at the NMEs in February 2010. They even played the Royal Albert Hall as part of the Teenage Cancer Trust run of shows.
And next year they’ll be back for another anniversary tour, this time celebrating 30 years since the release of the legendary ‘Ghost Town’. Perfect for its time as it was when it was originally released, the classic song may be even more apt now, in this era of ConDem cuts, financial meltdown and economic misery.
So give yourself a present and something to look forward to, when at least for a night or two you’ll be able to stomp your woes away.
Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday 3rd December at Midland Box Office (0870 320 7000) or online at www.wolvescivic.co.uk. Book early to beat the rush!
