From November 26
Its name might be more synonymous with episodes of South Park and U.S. sitcoms of varying quality, but broadcaster Comedy Central is stamping its brand on a series of nights at Broad Street’s highlight club this Christmas. The shows, descriptively named ‘Comedy Central at highlight’, launch on November 26th and run for five weeks. Each will feature three stand-ups picked by Comedy Central and highlight’s management.
Among the acts hoping to get punters choking on their festive roasts with laughter are Scottish comedienne Janey Godley, veteran satirist Nick Revell and popular Michael McInytre’s Comedy Roadshow support act Mike Gunn.
Joining them will be 24 Hour Party People star and friend of Peter Kay, Smug Roberts, comedy club stalwart Sean Meo, talkSPORT regular Geoff Norcott and laconic Ozzie comic Wayne Deakin.
Organisers are touting the night as a Christmas party solution, offering a variety of dining options and an after-show party for attendees.
