Grand Union, Fazeley Street, Birmingham
12 November 7pm
Jamie Shovlin is the artist behind the Hiker Meat exhibition at Grand Union, and will be taking part in an artists’ talk next week, along with his collaborators Mike Harte and Euan Rodger. The artists will discuss the Hiker Meat project, and explain their intentions and ideas.Hiker Meat looks at how much control a director or artist has on the message that his work sends out. The project is reminiscent of Shovlin’s earlier work, Lustfaust: a folk anthology 1976–81, where he worked closely with Harte and Rodger.
After the talk, there will be an open studios event, where members of the public will have the chance to meet and talk to artists based at Grand Union.
Please note: the event contains graphic material that is not suitable for children.
