Rizla Re-Crafted Tour
Hare and Hounds (daytime), Rainbow Warehouse (evening)
November 12th
You might be used to hearing the call “Roll up! Roll up” at the circus, but it’ll be a case of “Roll-ups! Roll-ups!’ when Rizla’s ‘Re-Crafted’ tour rolls into Birmingham’s music venues on November 12th.
The organisers are hoping to unearth the next Mark Ronson or Danger Mouse when they kick off the tour in Birmingham, asking budding producers to rework the Mystery Jets’ track ‘Show Me the Light’ under the watchful eye of MJ Cole.
UK Garage Legend Cole, who started out composing songs in his bedroom with a sampler and an old Amiga, will oversee the daytime ‘Masterclass’ which forms the first half of the day-long event.
The class will include live demonstrations and performances, as well as advice for any young producers looking to make their first foray into the music industry.
In the evening, it’ll be time to take off the study hat and step into party mode as the event moves to the Rainbow Warehouse, where Mystery Jets, Simian Mobile Disco and Friendly Fires will be laying down DJ sets. There’ll also be a live performance from ice-cool Finnish electropop trio Le Corps Mince de Francoise.
The ‘Masterclass’, at the Hare and Hounds is free to attend, whilst tickets for the Rainbow Warehouse show are £8.
