The Moseley Exchange, Alcester Road, Moseley
2 November – January 2011

This November, the Moseley Exchange is hosting a joint photography exhibition, by local talents Martin Pickard and Louise Holgate.

Martin Pickard’s ‘Obscured’ collection is the result of capturing abstract images from experiments with motion. Pickard, who works as a senior technician at the Hippodrome, has created images for the BBC, ING Bank and The Southbank Centre, but this is his first exhibition; ‘It’s one thing showing things to family and friends, I’m more nervous of this than an opening night for the biggest musical’.

‘A Different Perspective’ is Louise Holgate’s take on exploring new angles and ways of looking at the everyday world around us – plants, people or the environment. Her photography focuses on picking out details that might otherwise go unnoticed; ‘I’m fascinated by lines and patterns in the world around us, and the abstract qualities that can be revealed with macro photography’.

Louise and Martin will also be supplying photographic prints to the new ‘We are Birmingham’ shop which opens on the 13th November. The new incarnation of the Created in Birmingham shop, that was in the Bullring earlier on the year, will be at Unit 2, Kings Parade, Dale End, Birmingham. MJ
