A solo exhibition by Richard Heeps
Three White Walls, The Mailbox, Birmingham
Until – 10 May
Richard Heeps’ latest exhibition, ‘Old England’, is about looking to the past with a new resonance, not nostalgia. His creations manage to encourage engagement from the audience through their distinctive style and highly saturated colours – even though the subject matters covering domestic interiors and industry can, at first, seem mundane.
Spanning a photography career of more than 20 years Heeps’ work has been described as ‘pictorial structures’ rather than just photography helping to demonstrate a key empathy for the subject that he portrays.
You can also see another exhibition of his work at the Lighthouse in Wolverhampton.
