Sensateria returns 26.5.12 at Club PST

Birmingham’s renowned psychedelic club Sensateria returns this month, after an eighteen year hiatus. The sixties themed club night began in 1984 and ran for ten years, moving to and from venues such as The Fantasy Club, The Powerhouse [now the closed Oceana], The Hummingbird [now Birmingham Ballroom], Digbeth Civic Hall Institute [now HMV Institute] and Snobs.

TRMNL Presents… Lab 11 in Digbeth

The past three years without a TRMNL venue has seen a noticeable absence of the underground sound in Birmingham. Now the team behind the former Birmingham club have re-launched at a new spot in Digbeth to bring techno back to the West Midlands masses.

The BASS festival hits its sixth year running in the city, housing a line-up that is sure to educate and blow the minds of the Birmingham masses. The UK’s only month-long celebration of black music and art, the BASS Festival (British Arts and Street Sounds) runs throughout June offering a feast of urban culture. Following the theme of Revolution, the festival brings together a multitude of mediums all under one banner; from grime and dubstep performances to street dance, spoken word poetry and fashion events, all celebrating the revolution of urban culture.

Diesel Island: Land of the Stupid, Home of the Brave

Get yourself down to your local Diesel store or click here because forthcoming Diesel Island looks like it’s gonna be big big news. Launched at the beginning of May, the Diesel School of Island Life will offer lucky ‘passport’ holders the chance to get involved with some amazing things, including events, parties, workshops and trips, and the best part is that they’re all completely free. Actually that’s not even the best part; there’s much more to come.

Heducation Fundraiser for JAPAN

Heducation, “Birmingham’s number one hip-hop and breaks night”, has rounded up the very best of Midlands talent for a one-night-only extravaganza, all in the name of helping those affected in Japan. Local legends Bentley Rhythm Ace, the Trans4mers and Automaton will be joined by Malicious DJ and DJ Mylz himself, Heducation’s founder.

The Catapult Club celebrates 10 years at Birmingham’s 02 Academy

Legendary Midlands based promoters The Catapult Club, who helped to establish local acts from throughout the region, including Ocean Colour Scene, Editors, Dodgy, Kasabian and The Twang, this March celebrated its 10th year of promoting gigs at Birmingham’S 02 Academy.
